Full-backs are more important than ever these days. They're some of the most technically gifted players on the planet whose jobs are to shine at both ends of the field, not just one.

In Football Manager 2023, whether you're using a wing-back or a traditional full-back, you're going to rely on these players to do so much for your team, so it's vital that you find a good one.

Here are the best right-backs for you to sign with any budget in Football Manager 2023.

Cheap options

Dani Alves

You won't find a better player at this price point than Alves. He may be 39 but he's still a sensational player who will cost you just £725,000.

Danilo D'Ambrosio

On the transfer list at Inter, D'Ambrosio is available for as little as £1.2m. As well as right-back, he's an excellent centre-back and can even play out on the left in emergencies.

Allan Nyom

The hulking Nyom can be yours for as little as £400,000. At 34, he's more of a defender than an attacker these days.

Damian Suarez

£825,000 is a nice price for Suarez, whose 14 tackling and 13 crossing makes him a nice modern full-back.

Aleix Vidal

Formerly of Barcelona and now at Espanyol, Vidal can be picked up for a comparatively pricy £3.4m.

Santiago Arias
Free Agent

Realistically, if this is your budget, you're better off saving your pennies and moving for Arias. Available on a free transfer, he's statistically better than everyone in this section apart from Alves.

Theodor Gebre Selassie
Slovan Liberec

35-year-old Gebre Selassie still has 15 pace and a massive 17 stamina. He's yours for under £300,000.

Jonathan Schmid

With natural positions of DR, WBR, ML and AML, Schmid is a potential squad gem for just £1.8m.

Youssouf Sabaly
Real Hispalis

At 29, Sabaly still has a few years left at his peak so he'll cost you around £3.5m.

Christopher Trimmer
Union Berlin

If you're on a tight budget, look to 35-year-old Trimmel, who is yours for £375,000.

Reasonable options

Statistically, Danilo is the best player in this price bracket. His current ability of 150 makes him the 12th-best on the game in this position and you can pick him up for as little as £7.5m.

Alvaro Odriozola
R. Madrid

Always on the fringes in Madrid, Odriozola is a nice, top-tier option that is available for £9m. If you're a mid-table side looking for a new starter, he could be your man.

Manuel Lazzari

£14m will get you the well-rounded Lazarri, whose strengths lie in his physical and mental attributes.

Noussair Mazraoui
FC Bayern

Unavailable immediately after just joining the club, Mazraoui will soon grow tired of life as a substitute in the German capital. £13.5m should be enough to convince Bayern to talk.

Hugo Mallo

At £9.5m, Mallo represents excellent value for money. The 31-year-old is a strong defender and a capable attacker.

Ridle Baku

Baku isn't the best option here but what he does have on his side is potential. The 24-year-old can grow into an elite right-back in just a year or two but can be picked up now for £11.5m. Plus, just look at that position map.

Adam Marusic

A nice, versatile option on both sides of the pitch, Marusic is available for £14m.

Matteo Darmian

A smart signing for any squad, Darmian can be picked up for £5.5m. He's a top-tier right-back who can play anywhere across your defence.

Djene Dakonam

Primarily a centre-back, Dakonam is just as happy out on the right if you're looking for a defensive-minded option. At £8.5m, he's a smart buy.

Hans Hateboer

Dutch right-back Hateboer is a physical machine and can bring those skills to your team for £9.5m.

Expensive options

Giovanni Di Lorenzo

Tied for the seventh-best player in his position, Di Lorenzo feels like a bargain at £31.5m. The 28-year-old is an excellent defender who isn't scared of attacking either.

Juan Foyth

Foyth comes with a £36m release clause but you should be able to convince Villarreal to do business closer to the £20.5m mark.

James Justin

Justin is a little pricy at £34m but, for that money, you're getting some nice potential and a player capable of shining anywhere across the defensive line.

Timothy Castagne

Another versatile option, Castagne comes it at around £36m. He's a good option if you're looking for an attacking threat from your right-back.

Juan Cuadrado

At £5.25m with some high wage demands, Cuadrado is a brilliant buy. He's a top player whose only downside is the fact he's 34.

90min recommends

Pedro Porro
Sporting CP

Porro's £38.5m price tag is about right for a player of his ability but what sets him apart from the rest is his age and his potential. The 22-year-old, who has 17 crossing and 14 tackling, will be among the best on the game in just a year or two, and worth far more than your initial investment.

Cesar Azpilicueta

At £18.5m, Azpilicueta is as cheap as you'll find somebody who fits into the elite bracket.

Nelson Semedo

Nursing a torn hamstring at the start of the game which could make an immediate transfer tricky, Semedo looks like a smart buy for £36.5m.

Benjamin Pavard
FC Bayern

Pavard isn't the bargain he was last year but his £40m price tag is still more than reasonable for the Frenchman.

Dani Carvajal
R. Madrid

It'll cost you £55m to lure Carvajal out of Madrid. With 15 tackling and 14 crossing, there are a number of different ways to make him work.
