Full-backs are more important than ever these days. They're some of the most technically gifted players on the planet whose jobs are to shine at both ends of the field, not just one.

In Football Manager 2023, whether you're using a wing-back or a traditional full-back, you're going to rely on these players to do so much for your team, so it's vital that you find a good one.

Here are the best right-backs for you to sign with any budget in Football Manager 2023.

Cheap options

Santiago Arias
Cincinnati

No longer a free agent, Arias is a newby on the books at Cincinnati but when he eventually becomes available, his asking price of £4.9m is very fair.

Mattia Di Sciglio
Juventus

The veteran Di Sciglio has long been a great bargain option in defence, and at £2.1m, nothing has changed this year.

Pasquale Mazzocchi
Salernitana

£6.5m is right at the top of this price bracket but Mazzocchi is only 26 and will see his value increase over the next few years, so it's worth buying him now if you can.

Davide Faraoni
Verona

It'll cost you £4.2m to land Faraoni, whose 15 pace and 14 crossing make him a valuable asset.

Damian Suarez
Getafe

£600,000 is a nice price for Suarez, whose 14 tackling and 13 crossing makes him a nice modern full-back.

90min recommends

Danilo D'Ambrosio
Inter

On the transfer list at Inter, D'Ambrosio is available for as little as £1.2m. As well as right-back, he's an excellent centre-back and can even play out on the left in emergencies.

Theodor Gebre Selassie
Slovan Liberec

35-year-old Gebre Selassie still has 15 pace and a massive 17 stamina. He's yours for under £300,000.

Pablo Maffeo
Mallorca

Maffeo has just joined Mallorca but he's worth keeping an eye on. The 24-year-old is valued at £5.5m initially.

Ruben Pena
Atletico Pamplona

Pena is one of those players who doesn't necessarily stand out at any one area on the stats sheet but is simply reliable everywhere. Somehow, you can even play him at striker if his 9 finishing appeals to you. He's yours for £3.9m.

Christopher Trimmer
Union Berlin

If you're on a tight budget, look to 35-year-old Trimmel, who is yours for £375,000.

Reasonable options

Sergi Roberto
Barcelona

The versatile Roberto is a nice option at £10.5m if you're looking to build a possession-heavy side.

Cesar Azpilicueta
Chelsea

£13m is what it'll cost you to land Azpilicueta. He's an excellent option for any top squad because of his willingness to play anywhere in defence.

Alvaro Odriozola
R. Madrid

Always on the fringes in Madrid, Odriozola is a nice, top-tier option that is available for £9m. If you're a mid-table side looking for a new starter, he could be your man.

Noussair Mazraoui
FC Bayern

Unavailable immediately after just joining the club, Mazraoui will soon grow tired of life as a substitute in the German capital. £19.5m should be enough to convince Bayern to talk.

Hugo Mallo
Vigo

Mallo is a defence-first full-back whose 15 tackling and 16 concentration should appeal to any manager. At £10.25m, you won't even have to break the bank for him.

90min recommends

Juan Cuadrado
Juventus

If you're in this budget, just spoil yourself and go for the best player available. Cuadrado may be 34 but his stats don't tell that sort of story, while his 16 dribbling and 15 crossing will be massive problems for any defender.

Ridle Baku
Wolfsburg

Baku isn't the best option here but what he does have on his side is potential. The 24-year-old can grow into an elite right-back in just a year or two but can be picked up now for £13m.

Adam Marusic
Lazio

A nice, versatile option on both sides of the pitch, Marusic is available for £17.5m.

Nahuel Molina
A. Madrid

Molina has only just moved to Spain so you'll have to wait to get him, but his £17.5m price tag is one worth waiting around for.

Matteo Darmian
Inter

A smart signing for any squad, Darmian can be picked up for £9m. He's a top-tier right-back who can play anywhere across your defence.

Expensive options

Benjamin Pavard
FC Bayern

Pavard isn't the bargain he was last year but his £26.5m price tag is still incredible value for the Frenchman, who usually ends up on the move in the first summer.

Juan Foyth
Villarreal

Foyth comes with a £36m release clause but you should be able to convince Villarreal to do business closer to the £20.5m mark.

Davide Calabria
Milan

£41m is a big investment in Calabria but he's only 25 and will definitely be worth a lot more than that once he reaches his full potential.

Nelson Semedo
Wolves

Being in the final year of his contract, Semedo is a rare sight of value for money in the Premier League at £32.5m.

Timothy Castagne
Leicester

Another versatile option, Castagne comes it at around £34m. He's a good option if you're looking for an attacking threat from your right-back.

90min recommends

Giovanni Di Lorenzo
Parthenope

Di Lorenzo has the highest current ability of anyone on this list but you wouldn't guess that by his £34m price tag. You will not find better value for money when it comes to these top-tier right-backs.

Dani Carvajal
R. Madrid

It'll cost you as little as £14.75m to lure Carvajal out of Madrid, on top of some hefty wages. With 15 tackling and 14 crossing, there are a number of different ways to make him work.

Denzel Dumfries
Inter

Several top sides are looking at Dumfries. His £54m price tag is undoubtedly steep but you don't find many better than him before you start talking about crazy money.

Danilo
Juventus

Capable of starting for any elite side, Danilo can play anywhere across defence. Even if you just want a squad option, he's a top signing at £35m.

Kyle Walker-Peters
Southampton

There are definitely more glamorous signings than Walker-Peters out there but, at £37.5m, the Southampton man would be a smart pick-up for any top side.
