Bayern Munich winger Kingsley Coman is not expected to feature for France against Finland on Wednesday evening after suffering an ankle injury.

France play Finland at the Stade de France on Wednesday in their first of three international fixtures during the November break, with Coman initially tipped to start for Didier Deschamps' side.

However, RMC Sport report than the 24-year-old injured his ankle during a training session with the national team at Clairefontaine.

Tottenham midfielder Moussa Sissoko is tipped to start instead of Coman, winning his 64th international cap.

The news is a blow to Coman, who had enjoyed a strong start to the season having hit the winner for Bayern in the Champions League final at the end of the 2019/20 campaign.

The Bayern winger has two goals and two assists in eight appearances this season after sitting out two of the first three Bundesliga fixtures to quarantine and then due to a muscular problem.

France's clash with Finland is just a friendly, and Borussia Monchengladbach forward Marcus Thuram is tipped to be handed his first international cap for Les Bleus during the fixture.

Deschamps is expected to name a slightly experimental side, with Steve Mandanda tipped to start ahead of captain Hugo Lloris between the sticks.

France then travel to Portugal for a repeat of the Euro 2016 final in the Nations League on Saturday, before hosting Sweden the following Tuesday in their final Nations League group game.

The extent of Coman's ankle injury has not been confirmed so it is as yet unknown whether he will be available for either of their Nations League clashes, or Bayern's next Bundesliga fixture against Werder Bremen on Saturday 21 November.

France currently sit second in their Nations League group following their 0-0 draw with Portugal when the pair last met in October. Portugal top the group on goal difference.
