Bayern Munich are in talks with Chelsea over a prospective deal for versatile defender Trevoh Chalobah, sources have confirmed to 90min.

Bayern are looking to bolster their defensive options before the end of the transfer window as they also consider whether to allow Benjamin Pavard to join Inter. Pavard is anxious to leave and hopes he will do in the coming days, but Bayern want a replacement and Chalobah is an option.

Thomas Tuchel is big fan following their time together at Chelsea and sources have confirmed to 90min that he has spoken to the player about the prospect of moving to Munich.

Chelsea have made it clear to Chalobah that he can move on, after they opted to sign Monaco's Axel Disasi instead of using him following the long-term injury top Wesley Fofana.

Chalobah has attracted a lot of interest and is considering his options, but 90min understands that a move to Bayern does appeal to him. It is understood that Chelsea would like to sell Chalobah on a permanent transfer or loan with an obligation, although Bayern would prefer a loan with option.

Talks are now continuing between the two sides. During their contact, 90min can also reveal that Bayern have additionally asked about the availability of England midfielder Conor Gallagher.

However, Gallagher, who was a player whose future at Chelsea was up in the air, looks set to remain at Stamford Bridge. Despite the expensive captures of Moises Caicedo and Romeo Lavia, Chelsea boss Mauricio Pochettino is believed to be very happy with Gallagher's progress and now sees him as an important part of the squad going forward.

90min understands that Chelsea actually plan to open talks with Gallagher and his representatives about a new contract once the transfer window has closed. The player's current deal expires in 2025 and the Blues want all of their first-team secured on long-term commitments.
