Bayern Munich 4-1 Chelsea (7-1 Agg): Player Ratings as Die Roten Cruise Into Quarter-Final

Bayern Munich sealed their place in the Champions League quarter-final on Saturday, as they beat Chelsea 4-1 (7-1 on aggregate) at the Allianz Arena.

Bayern struck first inside the opening 10 minutes, as Willy Caballero brought Robert Lewandowski down inside the box. The Pole duly converted his penalty, giving Die Roten even more breathing space with his 52nd goal of an unbelievable season.

The hosts doubled their lead when Mateo Kovačić was caught in possession, Lewandowski then rolling the ball across to Ivan Perišić who slotted home. Callum Hudson-Odoi thought he had a consolation goal for the visitors, but it was disallowed by VAR for offside from Tammy Abraham in the buildup.

Abraham finally pulled one back for Chelsea after Manuel Neuer pushed Emerson's low cross right into the striker's feet, before Corentin Tolisso came off the bench to lash it past Caballero - finding acres of space in the box to seal the win for Hans-Dieter Flick's side.

Lewandowski's second of the night made it 7-1 on aggregate, emphatically heading home to give the Bavarian giants a night to remember. Bayern Munich travel to Lisbon for the Champions League quarter-final, where they will meet Barcelona next Friday.

1. Goalkeeper and Defenders

Manuel Neuer (GK) - 6/10 - Made a few decent saves and had solid distribution all game long. Should have done better for Chelsea's goal, with a rare error allowing Abraham to tap it in.

Joshua Kimmich (RB) - 6/10 - Was very lively on the right flank, never looked out of his depth going forward on the back foot when defending. Made sure Mason Mount could not make an impact on the left wing.

Jérôme Boateng (CB) - 6/10 - Kept Bayern's defence together and did well in containing the visitors' attack. Was unlucky to eventually go off injured, albeit after an impressive hour at the back.

David Alaba (CB) - 6/10 - Helped FCB stay compact at the back, and worked very well alongside Boateng and Süle - adapting well to the change of centre-back partner.

Alphonso Davies (LB) - 8/10 - Was the standout defensive player, energetic and positive throughout the game. Created a number of key chances and was outstanding going up and down the left flank.

2. Midfielders

Leon Goretzka (DM) - 7/10 - Put in a solid shift in midfield, helped control the midfield battle for the hosts. Did well to occasionally drive the ball forward and was very comfortable at the heart of Bayern's performance.

Thiago (DM) - 6/10 - Made some nice passes into the final third and was unlucky not to score Bayern's third, but generally put in an uninspiring performance. Linked up nicely with Goretzka in a defensive midfield pivot.

Serge Gnabry (RW) - 6/10 - Was surprisingly quiet in a trademark attacking performance from Bayern. Rarely had a chance to drive forward with the ball, nor did he have any clear cut opportunities to add to his first leg brace.

Thomas Müller (AM) - 7/10 - Very solid at the heart of the attack as usual. Unlucky not to score after the break, but controlled Bayern's play in the final third.

Ivan Perišić (LW) - 7/10 - Put in a superb performance on the left wing and caused problems for Chelsea the entire night. Neat finish for Bayern's second goal.

3. Forward

Robert Lewandowski (FW) - 9/10 - Put in another trademark striker's performance. Did well to win the penalty and open the scoring, was fantastic to get two assists either side of the break and capped it off with a powerful header to make it 53 goals for the season.

4. Substitutes

Niklas Süle (CB) - 6/10

Philippe Coutinho (LW) - 5/10

Álvaro Odriozola (RB) - 5/10

Corentin Tolisso (DM) - 7/10

Chelsea

5. Goalkeeper and Defenders

Willy Caballero (GK) - 5/10 - Started off badly by conceding a penalty against Lewandowski, and could have done better for Bayern's other goals. Did make some important saves, but could not handle Die Roten's attacking firepower.

Reece James (RB) - 6/10 - Managed to contain Davies for the majority of the game, with some good battles against the Canadian. Did well and looked comfortable in place of César Azpilicueta.

Kurt Zouma (CB) - 6/10 - Had a mixed night in Munich, with a fantastic block complemented by some poor marking and defending inside the box. Was the most solid defender nonetheless, but struggled to stay on top of Lewandowski.

Andreas Christensen (CB) - 5/10 - Really struggled to cope with Bayern's attack, was often out of position and looked very uncomfortable in the heart of defence.

Emerson (LB) - 5/10 - Defended well in the opening quarter of the game, but then completely collapsed in keeping Bayern at bay. Very disappointing night for the Italian, should have done better for both second-half goals.

6. Midfielders

N'Golo Kanté (DM) - 7/10 - Was the only player who really looked in place throughout the game, led Chelsea by example as captain for the night. Made some decent passes and did well to come into the team and stabilise the midfield.

Mateo Kovačić (CM) - 6/10 - Made a very poor mistake to be caught out for Bayern's second goal. Did eventually settle into the game, his European credentials were vital but not enough for the Blues.

Ross Barkley (CM) - 5/10 - Did not leave his mark on the game, wasted a number of chances in the final third and did not positively impact the midfield or the game.

7. Forwards

Callum Hudson-Odoi (RW) - 6/10 - Was unfortunate to have his first half goal disallowed, but was very positive and energetic in attack. Could have done more to continue the attack on occasions, but was decent overall.

Tammy Abraham (FW) - 7/10 - Took his and Chelsea's only big chance to score, showing great awareness and positioning to guide the ball home from point-blank range.

Mason Mount (LW) - 5/10 - Failed to impact the game and break past Bayern's defence, as was the case in the first leg.
