Barcelona predicted lineup vs Sevilla - La Liga
By Max Parsons
An in-form Barcelona return to action this weekend, hosting Sevilla in a heavyweight clash on Sunday night.
Boasting a run of 12 unbeaten outings - with nine wins in that time - across all competitions, La Blaugrana head into this clash as one of La Liga's most blistering sides. Xavi's men are fresh from most recently booking their quarter-final spot in the Europa League before earning a momentous 4-0 win at Real Madrid last time out.
They face another tough test this weekend, against an admittedly out-of-sorts Sevilla side, who currently sit three points above Barça in second, having played a game more. Here's how Xavi could set his side up for this potentially runner-up-deciding clash.
Barcelona predicted lineup vs Sevilla - La Liga
1. Goalkeeper & defenders
Marc-Andre ter Stegen (GK) - In steady form at the moment, looking for a fifth clean sheet in seven Barcelona appearances this weekend.
Ronald Araujo (RB) - Dani Alves is available but it would be somewhat of a surprise to see Xavi alter a classic Clasico victory-earning lineup for this one.
Gerard Pique (CB) - A leading presence in the side, the veteran defender has really benefited from Xavi's return.
Eric Garcia (CB) - Enjoyed a good outing at the Santiago Bernabeu and should continue alongside Pique at the heart of defence.
Jordi Alba (LB) - One of the first names on the team sheet, the insatiable full-back isn't showing any signs of ageing with consistently dynamic performances.
2. Midfielders
Sergio Busquets (DM) - Only a one-match suspension has kept him out of action for Barcelona this campaign - remarkably ever-present and thriving.
Frenkie de Jong (CM) - Has picked up his form recently and, after a quality showing in El Clasico, will inevitably feature once more.
Pedri (CM) - A stupidly good footballer; it's scary to think of the heights the 19-year-old can reach throughout what is shaping up to be an iconic career.
3. Forwards
Ousmane Dembele (RW) - In sensational individual form, the Frenchman is putting forward a very good case to be reinstated into the France squad in World Cup year.
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang (ST) - 'Hit the ground running' doesn't even cover it - loving life in Barcelona, having notched seven La Liga goals in seven appearances since his arrival.
Ferran Torres (LW) - Should be in line for another start this weekend, boasting some great form in recent weeks with four goals in his last three league appearances.
