Austin FC held the Seattle Sounders to a 1-1 draw at Q2 Stadium on Sunday as goals from Diego Fagundez and Will Bruin earned each side one point.

Despite Austin’s dominance in the first half, the Sounders kicked off the scoring in the 43rd minute with a right footed shot by Will Bruin. Cristian Roldan set up the forward, who managed the strike from a close range straight to the center for the goal. It was Bruin’s first start of the 2022 Major League Soccer campaign.

The Seattle Sounders held the clean sheet until the 70th minute when Fagundez found the back of the net. The substitute came off the bench to propel the attack forward before managing a left footed shot from the center of the box to hit the bottom left corner following a set piece.

While the two walked away with a draw, Austin FC clearly dominated the game, recording 21 overall shots, eight on goal while balancing 61% possession. The expansion side has yet to defeat the Seattle Sounders.
