Atlanta United 2 head coach Jack Collison set to depart for Huntsville City FC

Atlanta United 2 head coach Jack Collison is set to leave the club in order to take over at Huntsville City FC, the brand new MLS NEXT Pro affiliate of Nashville SC, 90min understands.
Collison - a former midfielder for West Ham United and the Wales national team - originally joined the Five Stripes as an academy coach in June 2019. He served in that role for two years before then becoming ATLUTD2 head coach in 2021.
During his time in charge of the USL affiliate, who are set to join MLS NEXT Pro in 2023, Collison enjoyed a record of 12W-35L-13D, taking an average of 0.82 points per game.
Multiple sources have informed 90min that Collison will soon leave Atlanta in order to become Huntsville City's first-ever head coach, with an agreement already understood to be in place.
The Nashville affiliate are due to begin play in MLS NEXT Pro in 2023 after their unveiling in November.
“We are really excited to finally share our team’s identity with the City of Huntsville and the world,” Majority Owner John Ingram said at the event last month. “The energy and partnership we have experienced in Huntsville is remarkable and we couldn’t imagine a better place for Huntsville City FC to be."
The departure of Collison marks the latest step in what is proving to be a busy offseason of change for Atlanta United, who recently replaced outgoing president Darren Eales with Garth Lagerwey.
