Arsenal are aiming to extend their unbeaten Premier League run this weekend when they host bottom-placed Sheffield United on Saturday afternoon.

The Gunners, fresh from an important 2-1 victory against Sevilla in the Champions League, head into the weekend clash knowing a victory could see them move to the summit of the Premier League depending on the outcome of Tottenham's encounter with Crystal Palace on Friday.

Meanwhile, Sheffield United are simply aiming to climb out of the relegation zone having managed only a point so far this season. The Blades have lost five games in a row and Paul Heckingbottom is still searching for a first Premier League win.

Arsenal team news

Gabriel Jesus

After scoring and grabbing an assist midweek, Gabriel Jesus misses out on Arsenal's clash with Sheffield United because of a hamstring injury.

Mikel Arteta stated after the match: "He felt something in his hamstring. Let’s see. He straight away asked to be subbed which is not good news because Gabi is not a player that does that at all so we will have to wait to see in the next few days." The subsequent scans suggest he'll be out for a few weeks.

Thomas Partey is missing once more, and Arteta has decided to drop skipper Martin Odegaard to the bench for a rest. The Norwegian is replaced by Emile Smith Rowe, with Gabriel also rotated out of the side in favour of Jakub Kiwior.

Sheffield United team news

Heckingbottom's extensive injury list is unlikely to help him turn the tide, especially given the number of defensive casualties Sheffield United have at present.

Chris Basham, John Egan and Anel Ahmedhodzic are all sidelined for the foreseeable future, with potentially months in the treatment room for all three defenders. Rhys Norrington-Davies and Max Lowe are also still out.

Midfielder Tom Davies is also set for months on the sidelines, while the trip to north London comes too soon for forward William Osula.

Oli McBurnie has a groin strain too, after scoring against Manchester United last weekend, with Daniel Jebbison out through illness.

Arsenal vs Sheffield United score prediction

The fact that Arsenal are yet to lose a game and Sheffield United are yet to win a game in the Premier League more or less tells you everything you need to know about this fixture.

The Gunners are strong, strong favourites for this one and should have little trouble dismantling an injury-stricken Sheffield United side low on quality and confidence.

The Blades have given a decent account of themselves in several games against top clubs this season, but a visit to the Emirates will likely prove fruitless for Heckingbottom's men.

Prediction: Arsenal 3-0 Sheffield United
