Arsenal will end their Germany pre-season camp with a trip to face second-tier side Nurnberg on Thursday.

Mikel Arteta has a strong squad available to him, and although imminent arrivals Declan Rice and Jurriem Timber have not yet signed on the dotted line, there could be an unofficial debut for £65m Kai Havertz.

Here's how the boss could set up.

GK: Aaron Ramsdale - Recently hailed as the most valuable goalkeeper on the planet, Ramsdale will be feeling good heading into the new season.

RB: Ben White - Despite an excellent campaign last season, White's future as a starter appears under threat thanks to the pursuit of Timber.

CB: Rob Holding - William Saliba is part of the group but may not be thrown straight into competitive action after so long out with a troublesome back problem.

CB: Gabriel Magalhaes - Perhaps it's Gabriel who should be fearing for his spot in the starting lineup, with both White and Timber comfortable at centre-back.

LB: Kieran Tierney - Oleksandr Zinchenko is available but, like Saliba, could be held off for now as he continues his return from injury.

DM: Jorginho - Until Rice's move is made official, this spot in the team appears certain to go to Jorginho.

CM: Martin Odegaard - The club captain has lost his usual midfielder partner as Granit Xhaka has sealed a move to Bayer Leverkusen.

CM: Kai Havertz - The Havertz midfield experiment could get underway on Thursday as Arteta prepares to take one of the biggest tactical risks of his managerial career so far.

RW: Bukayo Saka - Saka will hope for a performance that is far more attractive than his appearance on the EA Sports FC cover.

ST: Gabriel Jesus - Jesus seems set to keep this role for now, with Eddie Nketiah his likely backup.

LW: Leandro Trossard - Trossard has already featured in a behind-the-scenes friendly this summer and seems to have fully shaken off his injury.
