Antonio Conte insists stuttering Spurs have 'long road' ahead of them

From Tottenham Hotspur Stadium - Tottenham head coach Antonio Conte has admitted that there is a 'long road' ahead of them after Sunday's 2-0 loss at home to Wolves.
Spurs conceded two early goals after errors from Hugo Lloris and Ben Davies and largely failed to trouble Bruno Lage's side on a dismal day in north London.
Conte's men have now dropped to eighth in the Premier League table and their hopes of a top-four finish have suffered two hammer blows in five days after Wednesday's 3-2 loss at home to Southampton, and the Italian has insisted his players need to live with the pressure and that they have plenty of work to do.
"The pressure is part of our job," Conte said.
"I remember when I spoke about improving many aspects [at Spurs]...it's not only today, after two defeats in a row at home, I tell you a different situation. I continue to do the same things, there is a long road, a long path in front of us.
"It's important to not be scared to face this path, but for sure there are many aspects to improve."
Despite the 2-0 scoreline, Conte revealed that he was actually pleased with Tottenham's performance and he believes in the quality of his squad.
"It's difficult today to speak about the game, because for me in my opinion, the game was good, the performance was good. We created many chances against a team that has the second best defence [in the Premier League] after Man City.
"We had many chances to score. We had possession and the ball. But at the end, we are talking about a defeat - 2-0 against Wolverhampton.
"We have to improve and live with a lack of confidence because it can happen.
"It's difficult but I repeat, these players are very good, the commitment is very high every day in the training sessions and in games. Today, I can't speak about a 'bad commitment'. Until the end, we pushed and I'm proud about this. But there are many aspects if you want to be competitive, to fight for important positions that we have to consider. I think we have a long path in front of us to follow."
