Dortmund Stick to High Price Tag for Jadon Sancho Despite COVID-19 Crisis

Borussia Dortmund are refusing to budge from their initial €110m valuation of winger Jadon Sancho, despite the effect of the coronavirus pandemic on world football.

The young England winger has put the footballing world on watch since moving to Dortmund in 2017 from Manchester City, with his scintillating performances in Germany generating interest from several in the Premier League.

And while it seems the German club's hands may finally be tied ahead of this summer's transfer window, Italian football journalist Fabrizio Romano (here we go!) has revealed that Dortmund will only part with the 20-year-old for a fee of around €110m (£97.5m).

The journalist further confirmed that Manchester United have been in contact with Sancho's agent, as a move to Old Trafford is explored.

Dortmund however are yet to receive an official bid for Sancho, and it is believed that any kind of move 'won't be a quick deal', especially with the impact that the coronavirus has had on the football calendar so far.

Chelsea and Man City have previously been linked with a move for Sancho, as have Liverpool.

Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford is believed to be a close friend of Sancho's, as is midfielder Angel Gomes, which could influence a decision on where the winger decides to play his football ahead of next season.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side currently sit fifth in the Premier League, and remain in a battle for Champions League qualification. With uncertainty looming over how various football seasons will be concluded, plus the possibility of no Champions League football next season for United, it could further complicate any potential deal.

Still,90min  learned last month that United remain confident that they can financially outmuscle any competition to land Sancho.

Sancho has managed 17 goals and 19 assists in all competitions for Dortmund this season, and is currently the third-top scorer in the Bundesliga.
