PSG’s Celebrations & Trolling After Beating Dortmund Were Just a Little Bit Weird & OTT

Paris Saint-Germain booked their place in the next round of the Champions League on Wednesday thanks to a 2-0 win over Borussia Dortmund, but then proceeded to celebrate in a pretty weird way.

After falling to a 2-1 loss in the first leg, PSG bounced back at the Parc des Prices as goals from Neymar and Juan Bernat steered the French side through to the quarter-finals.

Getting through to the next round is nice. PSG were understandably happy. But what's a little odd is that they decided to target Erling Haaland with repeated trolling after the final whistle.

The whole team sat down and pulled out Haaland's signature celebration after the final whistle, mocking the teenager after he was spotted on social media claiming he was set to dominate in Paris.

Imagine getting so riled up at a confident 19-year-old?! Neymar, the king of being overly cocky, even took to Instagram to taunt the Norwegian, writing: "Paris is our city, not yours."

Obviously, let's all just ignore the fact that Neymar was clambering to leave Paris last summer because he wanted to be back in Barcelona...

As noted by Marca, the taunting didn't even stop there. After Bernat's goal, TV cameras caught Ángel Di María saying: "We have to score six, seven...All the goals we can. We are going to humiliate them, we are going to humiliate these sons of b*****s."

After the final whistle, Mauro Icardi even added: "Let the sons of b*****s celebrate now."

Again, is this all just because Dortmund were happy that they won a football match? The German side celebrated winning a game which gave them an advantage in a Champions League tie, which was clearly too much for PSG. Triggered.

Wednesday night's game was played behind closed doors because of the spread of the coronavirus, which ensured that there was no mass gathering of fans, and players also remained as safe as possible. How nice and sensible.

Well, that's until PSG took to the streets to celebrate with all their fans like they had just won the Champions League final. Who cares about the spread of a deadly disease when you've just won a knockout game?

Honestly, what's going on? Haaland is living rent free in PSG's heads, and it's completely broken them.
