Erling Braut Haaland's incredible start to life at Borussia Dortmund has been rewarded, with the new signing winning Bundesliga Player of the Month for January, despite taking to the field for less than an hour.

Haaland made his eagerly anticipated big-money move in the winter transfer window, and is now spearheading Dortmund's attacking line with great success.

The Norwegian scored a 20-minute hat-trick form the bench on his debut against Augsburg last month, before following that up with an impressive double during a 5-1 win over Koln six days later.

During this time, Haaland played just 59 minutes of football, scoring five goals and scooping the player of the month award, fending off competition from teammate Jadon Sancho and Bayern Munich trio Ivan Perisic, Robert Lewandowski and Leon Goretzka, as well as Bayer Leverkusen's Kai Havertz.

The 19-year-old has not let up since, scoring four more times in February and taking his tally for the season to 37 goals in 28 games at club level.

Most recently, Haaland scored in Dortmund's emphatic 4-0 Friday night victory at home to Eintracht Frankfurt, and is continuing to develop at a frightening pace - failing to find the back of the net in just one of his six games at BVB so far.

Haaland's arrival has offered manager Lucien Favre some much-needed respite, with the young forward finally adding a cutting edge to the German side in front of goal. Friday's result means Dortmund will stay in third place this weekend, but the chasing Borussia Monchengladbach still have two games in hand over them.

The teenage sensation will be put to the test in Dortmund's next outing, taking on the mighty Paris Saint-Germain this Tuesday in the last 16 of the Champions League

The challenge of overcoming the Ligue 1 table-toppers may prove to be a step too far for Dortmund, but the presence, and form, of both Haaland and Sancho offers the German side hope.
