Ipswich Town Striker James Norwood Breaks Into His Own Car to Get to Training on Time

Ipswich Town striker James Norwood had a morning to forget as he was forced to throw a rock through his own car window after being locked out.

The 29-year-old has managed to hit the target ten times in 23 league appearances so far this season for the League One side and – although this one won't go on his stats – he did so again in order to get to training on time.

However, Norwood had a nightmare morning as he was forced to break into his own car in order to make it to the training ground.

We have all had those mornings where nothing quite seems to go our way, and this was certainly the case for the Englishman, who managed to accidentally dent his car with rocks before eventually firing a rock through the window, allowing him to get back into the car.

After successfully breaking in, Norwood took to his Twitter to reveal the extent of the damage. He has revealed that he was forced to smash his window so that he would be able to make it to training on time, as the fines for being late were more expensive than the cost of repairing his window.

"It's a big fine for being late [to training] so it was cheaper to smash a window," Norwood told BBC Sport.

"I put the battery on to defrost my window, closed the door and it locked. The first rock hit the window and bounced off," he continued.

"I'd been locked out for half an hour in minus 87 and when I tried to throw harder I couldn't feel my hands and released late and got my door, severely denting it. Third one went straight through and hit my other door."

Hardly clinical.

While it may have been effective in the end, there perhaps may have been other ways of dealing with the situation. Nonetheless, it got the job done. What remains unclear, however, is whether the Ipswich man made it to training on time...
