The Man Utd XI That Ole Gunnar Solskjaer Should Select to Face Everton

It's been a good seven days for Manchester United. After sensationally storming to victory in last weekend's Manchester derby, the Red Devils put four goals past Alkmaar in the Europa League on Thursday.

Mason Greenwood's brace in that game and Nemanja Matic's return from injury leave Ole Gunnar Solskjaer with a few potential selection headaches for Sunday's visit of Everton.

Here's who he should pick to start the game.

Goalkeeper & Defenders

David de Gea (GK) - De Gea made a number of good stops in the Manchester derby as he continues to maintain a stranglehold over the Red Devils number one jersey.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka (RB) - Wan-Bissaka loves a big challenge. Only Wilfred Ndidi and Ricardo Pereira have completed more tackles than the right-back this season, with five of his 62 dispossessions coming against City last weekend. His rock solid defending make him one of the first names on the team sheet at Old Trafford this campaign.

Victor Lindelof (CB) - Lindelof has been ever-present in the United side recently, even scoring against Aston Villa at the beginning of the month. After much conjecture over who would be Harry Maguire's defensive partner at the beginning of the season, the Swede seems to have nailed down the position.

Harry Maguire (CB) - The world's most expensive defender showed City what they are missing last weekend, after Pep Guardiola passed up on an opportunity to sign the former Leicester man in the summer. Maguire put in an accomplished performance that was typical of form of late and he will remain in the team to face Everton on Sunday.

Luke Shaw (LB) - Shaw made his first league start in over three months last weekend and more than held his own against Bernardo Silva. The emergence of Brandon Williams may threaten the 24-year-old's position in the future, but for now he should continue at left-back.

Midfielders

Fred (CM) - In a feel good tale of triumph over adversity, Fred has transformed himself from social media whipping boy into one of the most in-form midfielders in the league. With Paul Pogba on his way back to fitness, the Brazilian will need to continue these impressive performances in order to keep his place in the team.

Scott McTominay (CM) - McSauce! The McTerminator! Just two of the many nicknames bestowed upon the no-nonsense Scotsman who has won over the United faithful with his all-action performances. Once a figure of ridicule, McTominay is now his side's most reliable midfielder.

Mason Greenwood (AM) - Although Jesse Lingard started in the Manchester derby - probably due to his tactical intelligence - United should have much more of the ball against struggling Everton and therefore should reward Greenwood with a start. The 18-year-old was sensational against AZ Alkmaar and deserves a chance to display his talents against stronger opposition.

Forwards

Daniel James (RW) - After a rip-roaring start to his United career, James has not scored since August. He will need to increase his goal output to maintain his place in the starting XI, but the strength of his overall performances should be enough for him to keep his spot for now.

Anthony Martial (ST) - Martial bagged United's second in the derby - his sixth goal of the season. The 24-year-old has been interchanging fluidly with the Red Devils' other forwards recently and his intelligent movement had led to a number of his side's goals.

Marcus Rashford (LW) - One of the most in-form players in the world, Rashford has been United's talisman during their recent upturn in form. Scoring all manner of goals, the 22-year-old's development into a complete forward has been a joy to witness.
