Eintracht Frankfurt Captain Floors Freiburg Coach as Bundesliga Clash Descends Into Madness

The Bundesliga has never shied away from a little bit of carnage, but Sunday's clash between SC Freiburg and Eintracht Frankfurt - yielding three red cards and some of the wildest post-match scenes you're ever likely to lay eyes on - has really taken the biscuit. 

With the two sides starting the day in seventh and ninth, you could have been forgiven for overlooking it in favour of the top-of-the-table action taking place in England at the same time. 

And with Freiburg leading 1-0 into stoppage time, against a Frankfurt side who had played the entire second half with ten men following Gelson Fernandes' first half sending off, it had looked as if it was going to play out to a fairly nondescript finish.

And then, five minutes into stoppage time, things went from 0 to 200 when Frankfurt captain David Abraham went to collect the ball inside the home technical area. Without breaking his stride, he pushed over Freiburg manager Christian Streich, knocking him over in the process - and causing absolute pandemonium. 

In the blink of an eye, as captured by BT Sport, the entire visiting bench spilled onto the pitch, outraged at the visiting captain's antics, and a full-scale brawl between the two sides and their respective coaching staffs follows. 

The referee, trying to put a lid back on things with 95 minutes on the clock, sends off Abraham, who acts outraged at the decision despite it being as clear a red card as you'll ever see. 

Four minutes later, with play not even restarted yet, a red card was dished out to Freiburg winger Vincenzo Grifo - who had been subbed off earlier, but played a role in the mass skirmish that followed the incident. 

Streich, 54, saw his side eventually see out the win to go fourth in the ​Bundesliga - behind second-placed Leipzig and ​Bayern Munich in third on only goal difference.
