Everton Are Officially the Most Beaten Team in Premier League History After Sunday's Loss
By 90min
Everton are officially the most beaten team in the Premier League era after Sunday's loss at the hands of league leaders Chelsea was their 334th in the top flight since August 1992.
The Toffees, who had won eight straight games at Goodison Park prior to Chelsea's visit moved one loss ahead of previous record holders Aston Villa as a result of the game.
What is important to note is that Everton are one of only six remaining founder clubs that have played in every Premier League season without being relegated and have therefore played more games than most others in the division's 25-year history.
West Ham are not far behind on 331 Premier League losses and have played 152 fewer games than Everton. Tottenham's 314 losses makes them the nearest founder.
Newcastle, who are returning to the top flight for 2017/18, have lost 305 times in the Premier League. Relegated on Saturday, Sunderland have only played in 15 Premier League seasons, but have lost the sixth most game of any club (293).
Manchester City also feature in the top 10 with 255 losses having been a mid-table and yo-yo club prior to huge financial investment in 2008, while Liverpool also just sneak into the top 10 most beaten Premier League clubs of the last 25 years.
