The landscape of the 2023/24 UEFA Women's Champions League knockout stages has been settled by a draw for the quarter-final and semi-finals on Tuesday.

After an enthralling group stage laden with some stunning football, surprise results and shock eliminations, the competition has been cranked up a notch. Reigning holders Barcelona may have needed a 96th-minute equaliser against Benfica to preserve their unbeaten record in the group stage but they remain the favourites to retain their crown. Norwegian side SK Brann drew the short straw with a quarter-final tie against Barcelona.

Chelsea, the only remaining representatives of the English Women's Super League, also emerged from the first round unscathed by defeat and are up against Dutch giants Ajax in the final eight.

The winner of Brann and Barcelona's quarter-final will face the victor of Chelsea and Ajax's tie, potentially setting up a repeat of the 2021 Champions League final. Barcelona thrashed Chelsea 4-0 in Gothenburg that day.

Benfica acquitted themselves well in a group with Barcelona and will not be preparing for anything easier when they come up against record champions Lyon in the quarters. PSG's reward for topping a wild Group C is a tie against Swedish outfit Hacken. The behemoths of French football, Lyon and PSG, met in the 2022 Champions League semi-finals - a fixture that could repeat itself two years later.

Here's a full rundown of intriguing set of matches that will grace this season's Champions League knockout stages.

When is the 2023/24 UEFA Women's Champions League final?

The culmination of the European footballing calendar arrives on Saturday 25 May. The World Cup in Australia and New Zealand last summer delayed the restart of domestic football but UEFA have ploughed on regardless, ensuring that this year's Champions League final is remarkably early.

Spain were crowned champions Down Under and their top flight, Liga F, doesn't conclude until 16 June, three weeks after the European showpiece that usually acts as the final match in any club's schedule. England's WSL and the French Division 1 Feminine both wrap up a week before the Champions League final.

Where is the 2023/24 UEFA Women's Champions League final?

This season's Champions League final will be held at the San Mames, the home ground of Spanish men's side Athletic Club. Hailed as the 'cathedral of football' in the Basque ground, 53,331 fans can cram into this deafening bear-pit of a stadium.

Barcelona overturned a two-goal deficit against Wolfsburg in last year's European showpiece in front of 33,147 fans at PSV Eindhoven's Philips Stadion in the Netherlands.
