There will be many in the Premier League who'll be happy to see the back of Jurgen Klopp from a competitive standpoint, but no club more so than Everton.

The Toffees have overcome a Klopp-led Liverpool just once in the top flight, and should the German oversee another victory at Goodison Park on Wednesday night, he'll become the first Reds manager to win ten league Merseyside derbies.

Liverpool have dominated the head-to-head duel with their local rivals in contemporary times, and Klopp will not want to bow out of this fixture with a whimper. After reigniting their title hopes with a victory over Fulham on Sunday, the Reds can pile the pressure on Manchester City with another win before they face Brighton on Thursday.

Here's the starting lineup Klopp could select for his final Merseyside derby.

GK: Alisson - Everton will undoubtedly be targeting Alisson from set-pieces on Wednesday, with the Brazilian yet to register a domestic clean sheet since returning from injury.

RB: Trent Alexander-Arnold - Oh, he's so back.

CB: Ibrahima Konate - Klopp has alternated between Konate and Jarell Quansah in recent weeks, with both defenders impressing. Konate is more likely to start the derby in midweek after Quansah got the nod in west London.

CB: Virgil van Dijk - There's been no rotating Van Dijk, however. The Dutchman has racked up a huge number of minutes this term, and he certainly won't be missing a hotly contested derby.

LB: Andy Robertson - Another who thrives on occasions like these, Robertson will fly up the left touchline and quite possibly attempt to rile up the Goodison faithful as much as possible.

CM: Wataru Endo - A supposed stop-gap option has enjoyed a stellar debut campaign. Liverpool have played their best stuff with counter-pressing monster Endo at the base of midfield.

CM: Alexis Mac Allister - Mac Allister needed a breather and he got one on Sunday. The Argentine loves playing with Endo and the pair will join forces on the blue side of the Mersey.

CM: Dominik Szoboszlai - The Hungarian has been out of sorts as of late, but Klopp is likely to stick with him given the power he supplies in transition. Szoboszlai came off the bench at the weekend.

RW: Mohamed Salah - Salah earned some much-needed respite by dropping to the bench at Craven Cottage, and he's a certainty to return to the XI for the derby. Liverpool's Egyptian king has seven goals in ten appearances against the Toffees.

ST: Darwin Nunez - With Diogo Jota back on the sidelines for the next few weeks, expect Nunez to battle through fatigue and play plenty of minutes.

LW: Luis Diaz - Diaz, like Nunez, is a facilitator of chaos and Klopp may return both to his XI in midweek. The Colombian has been a consistent performer in 2024.
