Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag claimed his side aren't getting favourable decisions from referees as they conceded another penalty on Saturday in the 1-1 draw with Burnley.

The Red Devils were in the ascendancy with just 11 minutes remaining, courtesy of Antony's first Premier League goal of the season, but had to settle for a share of the spoils at full-time following a VAR intervention.

Andre Onana was in fine form in the first half and twice kept out a determined Lyle Foster. Yet, as has often been the case during his debut season at Old Trafford, the former Inter goalkeeper made a disastrous mistake to hand the visitors a lifeline.

In the 87th minute, Onana collided with Clarets substitute Zeki Amdouni after an inexplicable headed back-pass by Casemiro. Referee John Brooks awarded a spot-kick to the visitors following a look at the pitch-side monitor and Amdouni made no mistake from 12 yards out, earning Burnley a 1-1 draw in their battle against relegation.

"It is bad luck," Ten Hag said afterwards (via Manchester United's website). "We are not lucky with the refereeing over the last weeks. So many penalties we've conceded.

"This one was justified but, on the other hand, I've seen two or three penalty situations. One is 100 per cent a penalty. [Alejandro] Garnacho, I think he was hit and then the last handball is 100 per cent a penalty. If it makes a penalty against Aaron Wan-Bissaka in the [Emirates FA Cup] semi-final, it makes that a penalty. It's really inconsistent.

"In the last couple of weeks, we gave penalties away or concede penalties and some were very debatable."

On Antony's performance, Ten Hag added: "He was a threat all through. It wasn't a surprise he scored a goal as he also had more chances before that to score a goal. Two or three times, with his runs and good movements in the box. He was there and we are pleased with him today."
