1. How do I become a writer for 90min?
Just sign-up and start writing! One of our editors will contact you after you submit your first article and offer some direction and tips on how to make your second article even better than your first.
2. Who can write articles on 90min?
Anyone can write articles, share pictures and videos, or engage in debate by commenting on articles. If you want to write a preview of your team’s starting lineup, a commentary on your club’s manager, or a top 10 list of your club’s best strikers - this is the place for you. Just click ‘Write an Article’ at the top of the page and let the footy knowledge flow.
3. What qualifies as an article?
90min encourages writers to create high quality content. In order for your post to be published we ask that it meets the 90min editorial guidelines:
4. How do I pick a topic?
We have found that these topics often generate the most reads: transfer news, best ever, worst ever, top 10 lists (these are easily made using our 'Top X' template), controversial topics (ex: goal line technology, homophobia/racism in football, etc), manager and tactical analysis, and so on. Having said that, we want you to trust your instinct and write about whatever you think will make a compelling article. In the end it’s totally up to you.
5. What is considered unacceptable on 90min?
We welcome good-natured sporting debate and encourage you to express your opinions,
both positive and negative, about the latest sporting issues, but we do have a few
rules to make 90min a great place to write. Some general guidelines are provided below
with more information in Terms &
Conditions and Privacy
We will reward top content and articles that really make the mark in terms interesting, timely and high quality content.
1. What are "Featured" articles and how do I get my posts “Featured”?
Our editors look through every article daily to select the top posts and feature them on the 90min homepage, Facebook, as well as our media partner news sites. Write great posts and your articles will reach an audience of millions.
2. How can I become ‘Writer of the Month’?
90min tracks how many “reads” your articles get and ranks writers accordingly. Gold, silver and bronze medals are awarded to the top writers for each team in a calendar month as a badge. You can see writer rankings by clicking the “Top Writers” tab on your Team Page. Once you've won a gold medal for being a Writer of the Month, you will have entered the 90min pantheon of top writers forever. This medal, as well as any badges you've won, will be displayed on your Pro Page for all to see and covet.
3. Who qualifies for the Career Ladder rewards?
Career Ladder rewards are based on the amount of your articles that have been featured, and are designed to be unlocked automatically as soon as the milestones are reached.
4. What if I already have a blog?
Email care@90min.com and include your blog's name, RSS feed, and a brief summary of which teams and leagues you write about and which topics you cover. Submissions are reviewed by our editorial team and if your blog is up to snuff, we'll contact you for further information. Please note that not every submission is accepted, and that we may review and remove your RSS feed at any time.
Feel free to send us any questions or comments you may have. We would love to hear your input! Care@90min.com
Cheers!
