Respite is minimal following the conclusion of the 2023/24 season with a European Championship to be played this summer.

Euro 2024 genuinely could be the last of its kind. UEFA's increased appetite for continental expansion mean singular hosts may become increasingly rare, but Germany and Germany alone will stage the upcoming tournament.

With the Copa America running almost simultaneously over in the United States, a festival of summer football will be enjoyed by fans all over the world.

A crucial aspect of major international tournaments is the ease of broadcasting access. For those in the United Kingdom, no subscriptions are required to watch all the action unfold. The traditional big two will dominate our screens for a month this summer.

How to watch Euro 2024 on TV in the UK

BBC

The BBC is set to provide Euro 2024 coverage 24 hours a day, seven days a week. While BBC Radio 5 Live will provide commentary for all 51 matches, the BBC is broadcasting 27 matches live across their two main channels.

The BBC is also launching a dedicated Euros channel on iPlayer which will provide around the clock coverage of the tournament.

England's first two group games will be televised on BBC One, with the broadcaster also having first pick of the quarter-final ties.

ITV

ITV will once again share broadcasting rights with the BBC, and will televise the opening game of the tournament between host Germany and Scotland on 14 June.

ITV's coverage will be spread across ITV1 and ITV4, as well as simulcast ITVX. England's final group game against Serbia will be shown live by ITV, with the broadcaster also having the first three picks of the last-16 ties as well as first choice of the semi-finals.

How can I watch Euro 2024 in the UK?

Euro 2024 coverage in the UK will be spread across two free-to-air broadcasters: the BBC and ITV. Every single minute of action will be covered by the pair this summer.
