Tottenham Hotspur enjoyed a historic night in Bilbao as they beat Manchester United to win the UEFA Europa League to lift their first trophy in 17 years.
A scrappy first-half goal from Brennan Johnson proved decisive in sunny Spain, sealing a long-awaited triumph that will go down as one of the most memorable nights in Spurs' 142-year history.
Unsurprisingly, the players celebrated in style.
Following jubilant scenes on the pitch and in the dressing room – where beer and champagne flowed – the team returned to their hotel in the heart of the city aboard the team bus, where the party rolled on. Social media posts and stories captured players dancing, singing, and soaking in the moment.
Yves Bissouma, in particular, stole the spotlight, dancing shirtless in the aisle with his winner’s medal proudly draped around his neck.
Once back at their hotel, the celebrations continued, with some players and staff partying well into the early hours – still in their full kits.
Clips shared on social media platform X showed the squad singing Gala’s “Freed from Desire” – the iconic football anthem made famous by the exploits of former Wigan striker Will Grigg – as late as 3am with drinks in hands and smiles all around.
Even on the plane journey home, the celebrations rolled on, with players proudly posing with the trophy and continuing the chants of “Glory, Glory, Tottenham Hotspur.”
One trophy, seventeen years in the making — and one hell of a party to match.
