Real Madrid ended 2023/24 with three trophies in their back pocket and there's no overlooking the club's summer preparations in their success.

The addition of Jude Bellingham helped mitigate the void left by Karim Benzema, while under-the-radar acquisition Joselu inspired the club into yet another Champions League final by scoring a late brace against Bayern Munich in the semi-finals.

A productive pre-season in the United States doubtlessly contributed to an impressively unified Madrid dressing room despite the litany of superstars, and that collective cohesion is set to be put to the test when Kylian Mbappe is thrown into the mix.

Carlo Ancelotti knows just how important pre-season will be in ensuring the Frenchman settles ahead of 2024/25, with the Spanish media bound to be unrelenting in their coverage of arguably the world's best player at the start of his Madrid career.

Here is what Real Madrid have done in pre-season.

Where did Real Madrid go for 2024/25 pre-season?

Real Madrid travelled to North America again this summer and participated in the 2024 Soccer Champions Tour. The tour was announced by the club back in March, with Madrid being regular visitors to the United States.

Madrid faced similar opposition to last summer but travelled to different cities. They played three fixtures, including a pre-season Clasico against Barcelona at MetLife Stadium, New York - the host stadium of the 2026 World Cup final - on 3 August.

Having returned form the US, they now have the UEFA Super Cup to consider after winning the Champions League last season. Ancelotti's side face Europa League winners Atalanta in Warsaw on Wednesday 14 August.

Real Madrid pre-season 2024/25 confirmed schedule

Los Blancos kicked off their pre-season friendlies with a tepid 1-0 loss to Milan in Chicago. Despite fielding a strong side largely made up of first-teamers, Samuel Chukwueze's second-half effort condemned the European champions to defeat.

Madrid's winless start to pre-season continued in the New York Clasico against Barcelona. Pau Victor scored twice for Barca in a 2-1 win with Nico Paz halving the deficit late on. Vinicius Junior made his first appearance of the tour from the bench, while Endrick struggled again in a starting role.

However, their final match of the tour was more fruitful. Madrid faced and beat Chelsea in Charlotte, with goals from Lucas Vazquez and Brahim Diaz ensuring that Noni Madueke's effort was nothing more than a consolation for the English side.

The Spanish giants now face Atalanta in the UEFA Super Cup. It's a competition Real Madrid have won a joint-record five times previously, most recently beating Eintracht Frankfurt in 2022. Mbappe could well make his Madrid debut in the fixture.
