Zinedine Zidane is in self-isolation following a member of his entourage testing positive for COVID-19.

The Real Madrid boss has undergone a PCR test and is awaiting the results, but has tested negative in an antigen test.

Zidane missed training with the first-team squad on Thursday as his side prepare for a La Liga clash against Osasuna on Saturday, and it is still unknown whether or not he will be able to travel with the team for the game.

According to La Liga protocol, anyone who isolates due to COVID-19 must return two negative tests before being able to travel. Zidane has undergone one test so far and is awaiting the results of that, but should that be negative he will have to return another negative result to travel to Pamplona.

It's possible that Zidane could miss both of the next two fixtures due to the isolation period, which would see him miss the Super Cup final against Athletic Club de Bilbao in midweek as well as the trip to Osasuna.

Zizou has had a rough season so far, with the legendary midfielder escaping the sack after scraping through their Champions League group on the final matchday with a win over Borussia Moenchengladbach.

Since then, Madrid have won five of their last six fixtures including against local rivals Atletico Madrid to move just two points behind them at the top of La Liga.

The Spanish giants have been hit by the coronavirus a few times this season, with Eden Hazard, Casemiro, Luka Jovic and Eder Militao all testing positive so far during the current campaign. Each player has recovered without any trouble since then and is back training with the first team.

The fixture against Osasuna has another obstacle in it's path, with a snow storm potentially throwing this and many other games in doubt across the weekend.
