Xavi tips outgoing Germany boss Joachim Low to take over at Barcelona

Former Barcelona captain Xavi has suggested Joachim Low could take over at Camp Nou after he leaves his role as boss of the German national team.
Low recently announced he would be stepping down as Die Mannschaft boss following the delayed 2020 European Championship. The veteran tactician has helped propel his country back among the world's elite national sides with a number of solid major tournament performances including their triumph at the 2014 World Cup.
With Low soon to be a free agent, Xavi has revealed he believes the 61-year-old could be the right man to take Barcelona forward, citing his personality as one of the reasons he thinks he would be a good fit for the Blaugrana.
"He was a luxury coach. He wanted spectacle, attacking football, and then he became world champion with it," he told German news outlet Suddeutsche Zeitung (via Goal).
"Germany has developed a different understanding of football that reminds me a lot of what I know from Spain and Barcelona.
"[He would be a good fit for Barcelona] because of his way of understanding the game and because of his personality."
The legendary midfielder himself has also been touted as Barcelona's next boss, with Ronald Koeman's position in the Camp Nou hot seat precarious regardless of what happens in the La Liga title race.
Koeman took over at Barcelona last year with the club in a financial crisis. The Dutchman has been forced to move on a number of high-profile players for next to nothing as they look to trim their eye-watering wage bill, while continuing to attempt to deliver on-field success.
The current campaign has hardly been a stellar period in Barcelona's history, though with the gap between themselves and La Liga leaders Atletico Madrid now down to just four points and with a Copa del Rey semi-final against Athletic Club to come, there's still hope Koeman's maiden campaign at the helm could ended in glory .
