Xavi Hernandez has insisted that Joao Felix fits his tactical plans "100%" after the forward joined Barcelona on deadline day.

Felix made a season-long loan move to Camp Nou from Atletico Madrid official in the final hours of the summer transfer window, joining fellow Portugal international Joao Cancelo in arriving.

The forward had been incredibly keen to join Xavi's team all summer, even citing the potential transfer as his "dream".

Speaking after joining Barca, Felix stated that he was hoping his loan to the club would be "the best year" of his life: "I am very happy. It has always been one of my goals since I was a child and it has finally been achieved. I want to take advantage of the moment, and give everything for the club to help maximum possible.

"I hope it will be the best year of my life. A season of many conquests, victories, titles, but well, we are going step by step but always with the goal of winning."

There has been plenty of debate about how Felix fits into Xavi's current tactical setup however, with many not seeing a natural position for the forward in a 4-3-3. The manager, during his pre-match press conference ahead of the trip to Osasuna, insisted that Felix will slot into his system with ease.

"Joao Felix fits in 100%. He is a natural talent. He scores and he can make the difference. He's a versatile player who can operate anywhere in attack," Xavi explained.

"These are two players who can help us a lot. We will treat them like any other player. We will try to help them be at their best level. It happened with Aubameyang, and he was exemplary. We try to make them comfortable and treat them with respect. With a good attitude, everyone will be happy."
