The FA Cup never disappoints.

Now in the quarter-final stage, the magic that keeps the old cliche alive doesn't tend to be as strong, but clearly nobody told Coventry City how things are supposed to go.

The Championship promotion hopefuls are now bouncing their way to Wembley after an unbelievably dramatic 3-2 victory over Premier League outfit Wolverhampton Wanderers - a result that social media was understandably loving because of how the game played out.

Coventry scored first through Ellis Simms and looked to be on their way to a much calmer upset as they took their lead into the final ten minutes.

And then all hell broke loose.

Rayan Ait-Nouri equalised with five minutes left of normal time, before Hugo Bueno tried to force a knife right into the narrative with what everybody believed would be a late winner in the 88th minute.

Simms headed home an equaliser in the 97th minute, sending the Coventry fans wild as they strapped themselves in for extra-time.

Step forward, Haji Wright.

The United States international slotted home three minutes later - after more superb work from Simms - to complete the comeback in what is undoubtedly one of the craziest games of the season.

It was hardly a smash-and-grab from the underdogs. Coventry may have ended the game with 42% possession but they outshot Wolves 24 to 17, while their 12 efforts on target far exceeded the five Wolves managed to offer up.

Understandably, the home fans were thoroughly unimpressed.

It's the first time Coventry have reached the FA Cup semi-final since 1987... when they went on to win it. They couldn't, could they?
