Leicester City ruined Casey Stoney's farewell at Manchester United with a 3-2 victory that dumped the Red Devils out of the FA Cup fifth round.

Stoney has already voiced her decision to leave United after this game but she had hoped to steer United through to the next round, which will be played in the 2021/22 season to ease the strain on the calendar caused by COVID-19.

Unfortunately for United, things did not go to plan. Jess Sigsworth's opener was cancelled out by Shannon O’Brien, but after Jane Ross had restored United's advantage, they gave up a lead for a second time.

A quickfire double from Hannah Cain and Natasha Flint saw Leicester roar into the lead, and the Foxes held on to book their place in the quarter-final on the same weekend that Brendan Rodgers' men's team lifted their FA Cup too.

There was a more positive vibe down in London for Arsenal boss Joe Montemurro, who signed off from the Gunners with a comprehensive 9-0 win over Crystal Palace.

Montemurro, who decided to walk away from the club to spend more time with his family, was given the perfect send-off by goals from Kim Little, Beth Mead, Daniëlle van de Donk, Noelle Maritz (who bagged a brace), Jordan Nobbs, Vivianne Miedema, Katie McCabe and Jill Roord, the latter of whom was also making her final appearance before joining Wolfsburg this summer.

Elsewhere, there was a comprehensive victory for Manchester City, who thumped West Ham United to the tune of a 5-1 drubbing in a repeat of the 2019 final.

Having played out a hard-fought 1-0 victory in the recent WSL finale, the holders turned on the class this time around and goals from Ellen White, Janine Beckie, Rose Lavelle, Sam Mewis and Lauren Hemp ensured there was no tension late in this one.

Brighton also booked their place in the next round with a 6-0 win over Huddersfield, Charlton picked up a 1-0 win over Blackburn and Birmingham battled to a 3-2 victory over Southampton.

Chelsea will also meet Everton for their fifth-round tie on Thursday, with the tie being bumped back a few days to allow Emma Hayes' side to battle Barcelona in Sunday's Champions League final.
