A trio of mascots have been unveiled for Euro 2022 ahead of the festivities kicking off in England this July.

The three mascots - christened Kai, Ashley and Robyn - will appear virtually as gaming characters in Road to UEFA Women's Euro and in a schools education series on YouTube, before greeting fans in the flesh once the tournament begins in the summer.

Euro 2022 takes place between 6-31 July 2022, beginning with England versus Austria at Old Trafford, and concluding with the final at Wembley.

A statement released on UEFA's official website reads: "Together, the three mascots are known as Hat Trick. Each has a distinct personality – and squad number. Kai (No4) boasts intelligence, captain Ashley (No7) has strength and Robyn (No10) is blessed with skill."

Alongside the three mascots, 12 potential stars of Euro 2022 will also appear in the educational YouTube series, including Arsenal and Netherlands striker Vivianne Miedema, Manchester City and England full-back Lucy Bronze, and Barcelona and Spain midfielder Alexia Putellas.

"Europe's next top players are out there right now, and the UEFA's Women's Euro mascot campaign could be the initiative that inspires them to fall in love with the game," said Putellas. "We want to ensure that everybody, everywhere has the opportunity to play football, so it's exciting that this initiative is being rolled out in schools across Europe.

"But there is no better way to inspire the next generation than by delivering a world-class, entertaining tournament, and we certainly aim to make the UEFA Women's Euros an unmissable event this summer."
