Women's Euro 2022: Every Man Utd player called up for the tournament
Manchester United will have seven players from four different countries representing the club at Euro 2022 in England this summer.
It could have been more in different circumstances, but for Katie Zelem and Lucy Staniforth narrowly missing out on a place in the England squad after being named in the provisional group.
Signe Bruun, who spent the latter half of the campaign on loan from Lyon but will not be returning for a second season, will also be going to the Euros with Denmark in addition to the seven below.
1. Ona Batlle (Spain)
8 July - 17:00 (BST) - Spain vs Finland - BBC Two
12 July - 20:00 (BST) - Germany vs Spain - BBC Two
16 July - 20:00 (BST) - Denmark vs Spain - BBC iPlayer
Ona Batlle has established herself as one of the best full-backs in Europe since her 2020 move to United and has been linked with summer switches to Manchester City, Chelsea and Barcelona.
She is unique in that every other member of Spain's squad plays at home.
2. Vilde Boe Risa (Norway)
7 July - 20:00 (BST) - Norway vs Northern Ireland - BBC One
11 July - 20:00 (BST) - England vs Norway - BBC One
15 July - 20:00 (BST) - Austria vs Norway - BBC Three
A lack of consistent starts meant that Vilde Boe Risa only showed her best in flashes during her debut season in England.
Now, she will have a chance to impress against England in a Norway side boosted by the return of Ada Hegerberg.
3. Mary Earps (England)
6 July - 20:00 (BST) - England vs Austria - BBC One
11 July - 20:00 (BST) - England vs Norway - BBC One
15 July - 20:00 (BST) - Northern Ireland vs England - BBC One
Mary Earps stormed back into England contention when Sarina Wiegman took charge in the autumn and goes into Euro 2022 as number one.
Her only previous international tournament was the 2019 World Cup when she was third choice stopper behind Karen Bardsley and Carly Telford.
4. Jackie Groenen (Netherlands)
9 July - 20:00 (BST) - Netherlands vs Sweden - BBC One
13 July - 20:00 (BST) - Netherlands vs Portugal - BBC Two
17 July - 17:00 (BST) - Switzerland vs Netherlands - BBC Two
Jackie Groenen has been there and done it on the international stage in recent years, having won Euro 2017 with Netherlands and scored the extra-time winner that put them into the 2019 World Cup final.
She should be fresh after regaining fitness in the second half of the season.
5. Alessia Russo (England)
6 July - 20:00 (BST) - England vs Austria - BBC One
11 July - 20:00 (BST) - England vs Norway - BBC One
15 July - 20:00 (BST) - Northern Ireland vs England - BBC One
This season was a breakout one for Alessia Russo, whose nine WSL goals and record quick England hat-trick in November have given Wiegman a good selection headache when it comes to the starting 'number nine'.
Russo will inevitably replace Ellen White for the Lionesses longer-term.
6. Maria Thorisdottir (Norway)
7 July - 20:00 (BST) - Norway vs Northern Ireland - BBC One
11 July - 20:00 (BST) - England vs Norway - BBC One
15 July - 20:00 (BST) - Austria vs Norway - BBC Three
Maria Thorisdottir is going to her fourth major international tournament with Norway, but her first since becoming a United player in 2021.
The centre-back has been the only defensive constant for her club in recent months and will be important if Norway are to do well.
7. Ella Toone (England)
6 July - 20:00 (BST) - England vs Austria - BBC One
11 July - 20:00 (BST) - England vs Norway - BBC One
15 July - 20:00 (BST) - Northern Ireland vs England - BBC One
Ella Toone is already the face of Manchester United and is fast becoming the face of a new look England as well. She goes into this tournament having become a firm favourite under Wiegman.
Toone's goal record for England is also extremely impressive.
