Wolves team news

Hwang Hee-chan is likely to make his first start for Wolves following his summer move from RB Leipzig.

There will likely be mass changes from their regular league starting XI, which could mean starts for Fabio Silva, Leander Dendoncker and Podence among others. John Ruddy may also play in goal in place of Jose Sa.

Pedro Neto, Jonny and Hugo Bueno are all absent through injury.

Tottenham team news

Japhet Tanganga is available again having served a suspension for the red card he picked up at Crystal Palace and could slot straight back in at right-back. Pierluigi Gollini will come in for Hugo Lloris in goal, while there may be midfield starts for Oliver Skipp and Harry Winks.

With Lucas Moura and Steven Bergwijn both carrying knocks, Nuno may start star forwards Harry Kane and Son Heung-min - the latter only just back from an injury - with Bryan Gil completing the attack.

The two sides have already faced each other this season, with Spurs coming out on top 1-0 courtesy of Dele Alli's penalty.

Tottenham have edged the meetings since Wolves' promotion back to the Premier League in 2018, winning four of the seven matches. Overall, Spurs have won 50 times against the Wanderers, who have 29 wins alongside 21 draws.

Wolves vs Tottenham prediction

Both sides are out of form currently and with plenty of changes expected to be made to their starting XIs, this isn't expected to be a Carabao Cup third round classic.

Extra time and penalties may be needed, with a low scoring affair most likely.

Prediction: Wolves 1-1 Tottenham
