Wolves Trigger One-Year Extension Clause in John Ruddy's Molineux Contract

Wolves have triggered an option in John Ruddy's contract to retain his services for the 2020/21 season.
The goalkeeper has played 60 games for the club since joining from Norwich City in 2017, and was a key part of their Championship promotion campaign during the 2017/18 season. Since then, he has largely been used as the club's second-choice between the sticks, behind Rui Patrício.
Now, an official statement on the club's website has confirmed that the 33-year-old will remain at Molineux for another season, extending his stay in the Premier League as a result.
It was also announced in the same statement that Jordan Graham and Phil Ofosu-Ayeh have left the club, days after winger Bright Enobakhare also parted ways with Wanderers.
Wolves' Executive Chairman Jeff Shi said in the statement: “To the players who are leaving us at this point, I’d like to place on record my thanks for all of their efforts while representing Wolves.
“We wish them the very best of luck in the future, I hope they can all achieve great success in the game.”
Ruddy has not played a single Premier League game this season, with his six appearances all coming in cup competitions. A hugely experienced stopper, he's played just over a century of games in the top-flight, and is a reilable back-up option to have in case Patrício picks up an injury.
With Max Kilman also extending his deal, it leaves the Midlands club with no expiring contracts to address this summer - meaning manager Nuno Espírito Santo can now concentrate on making additions to his team, as well as possibly deciding on any player sales.
One battle he may face this summer is keeping hold of star striker Raúl Jiménez,. The Mexican has been linked with a move to both Juventus and Manchester United, with the latter described as a 'cool' prospect to the 29-year-old.
