Tottenham will aim to follow up their impressive opening Premier League victory against Manchester City when Nuno Espirito Santo makes his return to Molineux to face Wolves on Sunday.

Son Heung-min's strike earned Spurs all three points against the champions, with Harry Kane absent during the game between his current side and his desired club.

Wolves are also under new management, with Bruno Lage taking over from Santo after the latter departed at the end of the 2020/21 season. They kicked off their campaign with a 1-0 defeat at Leicester.

Here's 90min's preview of the encounter.

Wolves team news

Wolves welcomed Raul Jimenez for his first league game back since his head injury last year, while new signings Jose Sa and Francisco Trincao made their competitive debuts.

The trio will likely start again for the home side but Daniel Podence, Willy Boly, Jonny Otto and Pedro Neto are all missing through injury.

Tottenham team news

Nuno Espirito Santo revealed before Thursday's Europa Conference League qualifier against Pacos de Ferreira that not one player who played in the victory over Manchester City would start in Portugal.

That rung true although Nuno may have been wishing he'd adopted a different tact after going down to a shock 1-0 defeat. Man of the moment Harry Kane has been working on his fitness throughout the week, though his involvement against Wolves is likely to come from the bench.

That should lead to another start up top for Son Heung-min, flanked by Steven Bergwijn and Lucas Moura.

Wolves vs Tottenham prediction

Tottenham's opening day bubble was well and truly burst after slipping up in midweek, but it's important to apply perspective to the result.

Nuno keeping his key first team players fresh to the trip to Molineux was the right call, particularly as the home side need to bounce back after losing to Leicester. Wolves struggled to get into the game at King Power while Spurs more than deserved their win against Manchester City; soaking up pressure well before taking their opportunity to snatch all three points.

The visitors are unbeaten in their last five visits to the Black Country, incidentally, and that's a record that could extend with a narrow win.

Prediction: Wolves 1-2 Tottenham
