Wolves will face Sevilla on Tuesday night as both sides travel to Germany the Europa League mini-tournament, starting with their quarter-final.

Nuno Espirito Santo's side have already faced Spanish opposition in the round of 32 stage, where they beat Espanyol 6-3 on aggregate. Sevilla, however, are likely to offer the toughest test Wolves have faced in their debut Europa League season.

The five-time champions beat Roma 2-0 on Thursday night to book their place in the quarters, and have never lost after getting to this stage of the competition - they've made it five times and won the trophy five times.

Wolves will be without Daniel Podence, his yellow card against Olympiacos meaning he's suspended. Wing-back Jonny, meanwhile, will miss the rest of the competition – and very possibly the start of next season – with an ACL injury picked up in the same match.

The only concern for Sevilla is Nemanja Gudelj, who has recently tested positive for coronavirus. Apart from that, Julen Lopetegui could name the same starting eleven that beat Roma 2-0.

Predicted Lineups

Wolves (3-5-2): Patricio; Boly, Coady, Saiss; Doherty, Dendoncker, Moutinho, Neves, Vinagre; Jimenez, Jota.

Sevilla (4-3-3): Vaclik; Navas, Carlos, Kounde, Reguilon; Fernando, Jordan, Banega; Ocampos, En-Nesyri, Munir.

Wolves finished the Premier League season in seventh position, qualifying for next season's Europa League in a campaign that – since their Europa League qualifying campaign started – has now spanned more than a calendar year. Wolves won just two of their final six Premier League fixtures, but booked their place in the quarters with a 2-1 aggregate victory over Olympiacos on Thursday.

Sevilla finished fourth in La Liga, securing Champions League football for the 2020/21 season. Lopetegui's side finished unbeaten in their final six league games, and beat Roma 2-0 on Thursday night to book their flight to Germany.

This has all the ingredients of a fascinating European tie. A hungry Wolves side facing their toughest challenge in the competition against the five-time champions, who will be looking to make it six this month.

Expect a tight game, maybe even going to extra time, but Wolves have more than enough to get the job done despite Jonny's absence.

Prediction: Wolves 2-1 Sevilla (aet)
