Winners & Losers From Gameweek 12 in the Championship
Don't worry ladies and gentleman, you don't have to put up with another international break for a good four months or so.
Not only is that music to the ears of basically everyone on planet Earth, it's joyful information for our delicate little retinas too; as we now get to refocus our beady eyes on the beauty of Championship football.
This week, the 12th round of fixtures, saw Wayne Rooney and his Derby chums venture into the managerial unknown, while there was also another opportunity for Reading to get their absolutely non-existent Championship title credentials back on track.
So who ended up as the biggest winners and losers of the week? Enough of the talking, let's find out...
1. Winners - Norwich
West Brom fully embraced the 'Boing Boing' moniker in the early 2000s after sampling countless Premier League promotions and relegations.
But another team who are the absolute specialists of being too good, and then too crap, are Norwich. Once again, Daniel Farke's side - courtesy of victory at improving Middlesbrough - are top of the table, and everything is suddenly very familiar in east Anglia.
One little gem in their arsenal this season is Oliver Skipp, who is having a right good time of it on loan from Tottenham.
2. Losers - Nottingham Forest
There was once a time where 90min considered Chris Hughton to be ageless. That was until he took over at Nottingham Forest, when mother nature decided to add a good 20 years onto his previously unfurrowed brow.
There's also the small detail of losing games at teams like Barnsley, who are notoriously ordinary at this level. But, alas, that's what Forest conjured up this weekend, so no wonder he's looking a bit peaky.
3. Winners - Stoke City
Some of the day's discussions at 90min towers centred around Stoke City and specifically young forward Tyrese Campbell.
In case you weren't sure, he is indeed the offspring of prolific(?) Arsenal great(?) Kevin Campbell, and boy does he show it on the pitch.
Not only was Stoke's clash with Huddersfield a seven-goal thriller, it was yet another example of what Campbell can do - although one esteemed member of our writing team (and notable Potters supporter) reliably informs me that his two goals and assist had nothing to do with Michael O'Neill's men coming out on top.
Who am I to argue?
4. Losers - Brentford
Last season, Brentford were firing on all cylinders with the dream trio of Said Benrahma, Bryan Mbeumo and Ollie Watkins banging in goals all over the shop.
This season, the Bees have lost their sting; with Benrahma and Watkins now strutting their stuff in the Premier League.
The end result?
Thomas Frank's team being unable to break the deadlock against little old Wycombe. Ah.
5. Winners - Bournemouth
It would be ever so rude to suggest that Dominic Solanke is well suited to Championship level.
But given he's scored as many goals in two months as he did in 64 Premier League appearances spread over three years, it's hard to argue against the overwhelming statistical evidence.
Still, he's got Bournemouth heading in the direction of promotion, and helped offer us another reminder that Reading, despite picking up early points, aren't really up to much.
6. Losers - Derby
In case it had slipped your mind, Derby decided to bin off Phillip Cocu as manager after a disastrous run of results.
That decision was made in the hope that the Rams may be able to snaffle a result against Bristol City at Ashton Gate, under the guidance of the aforementioned Rooney, Liam Rosenior, Shay Given and some other top notch chaps.
Sadly, things didn't go to plan - and Derby are still rock bottom of the league after a 1-0 defeat.
