Croatia shocked the world on Friday as they eliminated favourites Brazil to book a spot in the World Cup semi finals.

Luka Modric and co have impressed again after their run to the final in Russia back in 2018, though this quarter-final victory over the Selecao is arguably the greatest result in the Balkan nation's history.

Having come through a group containing Morocco, Canada and Belgium, Croatia secured a penalty shootout victory in the last 16 against Japan, holding their nerve in front of goal when the Asian side couldn't.

They took Brazil to extra time, where Neymar opened the scoring before Bruno Petkovic netted late on to take the game to penalties where they would win for the second consecutive game.

Here's who Croatia are on track to face in the semi finals following this famous victory.

Who will Croatia face in the World Cup semi finals?

Croatia's victory over Brazil sets up a second consecutive semi-final appearance for the Balkan nation at the World Cup. They won their last final four game, beating England 2-1 in extra time in Russia.

There will be no repeat of that 2018 clash. Instead, Croatia will face Argentina, who booked their place in the final four with a victory over the Netherlands.

Who could Croatia face in the final?

Croatia were the first side to qualify for the semi finals before being joined by Argentina. Should they win that game, it would take them into the final.

From the opposite side of the draw, England, France, Morocco and Portugal could line up against Croatia at Lusail Iconic Stadium if Zlatko Dalic's side make the final two. England take on France and Morocco face Portugal in those games on Saturday.
