One team has already been dumped out of the Premier League with a couple of games to spare and two more are going to have to follow them, be it this weekend or on the final day of the season.

Southampton could not save themselves but the likes of Leicester, Everton, Leeds United and Nottingham Forest are all at serious risk of joining them in the Championship. None of those teams are playing against each other either this weekend or on the final day.

They have got their own battles to fight against other teams in the Premier League, so here is who could have their fate sealed on Matchday 37.

Even though we have been viewing one of the best and most wide-reaching relegation battles in Premier League history, it could actually all come to an end this weekend.

The two sides in the bottom three with Southampton right now are Leicester and Leeds, and they could both be consigned to staying there if things do not go their way. In the simplest terms, if Leeds and Leicester both lose their games and Everton manage to grab a victory, then it is curtains for Leicester. Nottingham Forest getting even just one point would mean that Leeds are also relegated in this instance.

Leicester and Leeds would be left on 30 and 31 points respectively, while Everton would move up to 35, meaning they cannot be caught by either team. Forest are on 34 so if they lose, Leeds would still be able to catch them, which is significant because Forest have a goal difference of -31, while Leeds' is -25.

While the relegation battle has been and continues to be a thriller, the battle for the two Champions League places behind Manchester City and Arsenal could actually be wrapped up this weekend.

We don't have the beauty of all teams having played the same number of games in this area of the table, but in very simple terms, if Newcastle win their match, they will be in the top four regardless of whether Liverpool win or not. They would be on 72 points with a game to go, whereas the most Liverpool can secure with one game left is 68.

Manchester United can also book their place if they win their game and Liverpool are beaten. There is one point between the two sides right now, but United have got an extra game to play. Liverpool need to win this weekend in order to keep things interesting or hope that the two sides above them drop points.

Brighton could secure sixth place in the Premier League which is a Europa League place. If they win their game and there are defeats for both Aston Villa and Spurs, who are a point behind, then sixth is secured. Owing to their goal difference, if Brighton win and Villa and Spurs just draw their games, there would still be just a three-point gap but it would take a huge goal swing for Brighton not to be sixth.

Overall, Leeds and Leicester can potentially get relegated this weekend from the Premier League, while Newcastle and Manchester United can secure their places in the Champions League at the expense of Liverpool. Brighton can also grab sixth place and stop Tottenham or Aston Villa from catching them.
