How does the 2022/23 Champions League last 16 draw work?

In the Champions League last 16, the eight group winners are seeded and the runners-up are unseeded. Seeded teams are drawn against unseeded sides, with the former hosting the return leg of the tie.

Teams from the same group or the same association cannot be drawn against each other. For example, second-placed Liverpool cannot face group winners and Premier League colleagues Tottenham, Chelsea or Manchester City, or Napoli, who they played in the group stage.

There are no subsequent seedings for the quarter-final and semi-final draw and teams from the same group or association can play each other from that stage.
