Enzo Fernandez is reported to have called Mason Mount a 'coward' when the pair clashed after Chelsea's dramatic 4-3 win over Manchester United.

Mount, who left Chelsea last summer, butted heads with Fernandez late in the game as tensions began to build, and after Cole Palmer's late heroics flipped the game on its head, the pair also exchanged words after the final whistle.

Picked up by ESPN cameras, Fernandez is seen shouting at Mount before walking away, and it is claimed that the Chelsea man repeatedly called Mount a 'Cagon', which means 'coward' or 'chicken' in Spanish.

Fernandez's actions attracted a mixed response from fans but many Chelsea supporters were quick to praise the Argentine for showing his passion for the club after an undoubtedly huge victory.

One fan in attendance even held aloft a Chelsea shirt with Mount's old number 19 on the back above the word 'JUDAS', voicing their frustrations towards the manner in which Mount left Stamford Bridge last summer.

Mount actually enjoyed a solid 15 minutes on the field and was singled out for praise by many fans after the game, but he was powerless to prevent the shock defeat against his former employers in his second game back from a calf injury.

It was just Mount's 15th appearance of the season, with injuries taking their toll on the 25-year-old since his move to United, who paid an initial £55m to bring him to Old Trafford last summer.

Erik ten Hag is easing Mount back into action after so long on the sidelines and the midfielder will hope for more minutes on Sunday against Liverpool, who were also interested in his services before his switch to Manchester.
