West Ham United are holding talks with Sevilla over long-term target Youssef En-Nesyri, 90min understands.

The Hammers are looking for attacking reinforcements after letting Gianluca Scamacca return to Italy with Atalanta, and have been working hard on a deal for Ajax's Mohammed Kudus.

Technical director Tim Steidten was in Amsterdam last Friday to try and negotiate a deal for Kudus, but Ajax's increased valuation of the Ghanaian is making the move difficult to complete. It's understood the Dutch giants now want at least £45m for a player who has also interested Manchester United, Arsenal, Chelsea and Brighton this summer.

West Ham are still keen on Kudus and want to finalise a deal this week, but they had also been looking at Montpellier striker Elye Wahi. He will not be moving to London Stadium, however, and is instead joining RC Lens to play Champions League football.

With Michail Antonio, Danny Ings and teenager Divin Mubama the only options at West Ham's disposal, sources have told 90min that a move for Sevilla striker En-Nesyri, who scored 18 goals in all competitions last season, has now been revived.

Talks are underway with the Europa League specialists over a potential deal, with Sevilla valuing En-Nesyri at around €40m (£35m). That's a price West Ham would be able to pay in theory, given they have indicated to Ajax a willingness to pay over that figure for Kudus, and agents are now negotiating in a bid to finally bring the Moroccan international to the Premier League.

West Ham first showed interest in 26-year-old En-Nesyri back in 2021, and also considered a move for him and Terem Moffi in the January transfer window. He has scored 55 times in 157 games for Sevilla, with his most impressive season coming in 2020/21 when he scored 18 La Liga goals and 24 in all competitions.

James Ward-Prowse and Edson Alvarez have already completed moves to West Ham this summer, and the former played a starring role on Sunday as Chelsea were beaten 3-1 at a bouncing London Stadium.

Nayef Aguerd, Michail Antonio and Lucas Paqueta were on the scoresheet for West Ham, despite the latter being investigated by the Football Association for a potential breach of betting regulations.
