West Ham travel to Old Trafford on Wednesday in the third round of the Carabao Cup, hoping to get revenge on Manchester United following their Premier League to the Red Devils defeat on Sunday.

A missed penalty from Mark Noble condemned the Hammers to defeat and both sides are likely to rotate heavily after what was a particularly draining encounter.

Here is the starting XI David Moyes is most likely to put out against his former club...

1. Goalkeeper & defenders

Alphonse Areola (GK) - Areola will start and, after another Lukasz Fabianski error on Sunday, it won't be long until the former Fulham man becomes the Hammers' number one stopper.

Ryan Fredericks (RB) -
Vladimir Coufal has made the right-back spot his own since arriving at the club but Fredericks is a capable defender and will be eager to impress against United.

Craig Dawson (CB) -
Dawson was surprisingly impressive last season, proving that getting relegated does not always mean you are dusted in the Premier League.

Issa Diop (CB) -
Diop might have slipped down the pecking order of late but he is a top defender. His inability to get a game demonstrates a new level of squad depth at West Ham.

Arthur Masuaku (LB) -
With Aaron Cresswell due a rest, Masuaku looks set to get a rare start. He does have a mistake in him but loves bombing down the left and should cause United problems.

2. Midfielders

Alex Kral (CM) - A summer arrival on loan from Spartak Moscow, Kral is in line for a maiden Irons start on Wednesday. He loves a tackle and will be looking to disrupt United in the middle.

Declan Rice (CM) -
Rice has played a lot of football in recent months but as he is so important to the Hammers, Moyes may be tempted to start him regardless.

Pablo Fornals (AM) -
Largely playing out on the left so far this season, Fornals could move back into an attacking midfield position at Old Trafford. He has started the campaign well.

3. Forwards

Andriy Yarmolenko (RW) - Thanks to the terrific form of Jarrod Bowen and Said Benrahma, Yarmolenko has struggled to break into the team this season - despite an impressive Euro 2020.

Michail Antonio (ST) -
After serving a one-game suspension, West Ham's offensive talisman will return to his rightful place leading the line.

Said Benrahma (LW) -
The tricky wideman is proving he belongs at the highest level so far this season. In his current form, he is undroppable, even if he may benefit from a rest.
