West Ham have unveiled a stylish new Umbro home kit for the 2021/22 season, which draws inspiration from the strip worn by the club at the turn of the millennium.

The Hammers are venturing into the Europa League this season after wrapping up a sixth-place finish during 2020/21, and will celebrate their return to continental action with a kit that has plenty of similarities to the one worn during the successful 1999 Intertoto Cup campaign.

Partnered with Umbro since 2015, West Ham's new shirt sees a return of the claret and blue collar made famous by Paolo Di Canio - yes, for that goal against Wimbledon in 2000 in case you'd forgotten - and also features thick blue panelling down the sleeves of the shirt.

Claret trim partners up with the main body of the kit to provide a smooth transition, while the club's primary sponsor remains BetWay.

The kit design is iconic not just for Di Canio's superb Premier League goal, but also for West Ham's memorable win over Metz in their last major European adventure. On that occasion in France, Trevor Sinclair, Frank Lampard and Paulo Wanchope found the back of the net to help overturn a one-goal deficit from the first leg, securing a 3-2 aggregate win and entry into the UEFA Cup.

West Ham's new shirt is modelled in the official release by three club favourites, skipper Mark Noble, Michail Antonio and Declan Rice, who has enjoyed a memorable summer helping England reach the final of Euro 2020. Supporters will hope this inclusion will dampen further speculation of a move away, amid supposed interest from Manchester United and Chelsea.

The club also provided an exclusive sneak peak at their new garms for local NHS heroes, as part of their ongoing pledge of support to local NHS trusts across east London and Essex, and members of staff at Barking, Havering and Redbridge University Hospitals NHS Trust modelled the shirt.

Shirts are priced at £60 for adult men's and women's sizes, with junior editions costing £50. Season ticket holders are able to claim a further 10% discount either online or in store.
