Wes Burns has made it back-to-back wins for an Ipswich Town player in the PFA Vertu Motors League One Fans' Player of the Month vote.

James Norwood won the prize in December, and after Town's excellent form continued into the new year Burns has followed that up by taking the award in January.

Burns was central to Ipswich's success as they won three games from five throughout the month, and the Welsh midfielder was on target in each of their triumphs.

The 27-year-old, a summer signing from League One rivals Fleetwood Town, began the year with a strike in the 4-1 win over Gillingham.

He followed that up with a crucial goal in the 2-1 win over Accrington, before a standout performance at Wimbledon were he bagged both goals in the 2-0 victory.

Burns claimed the award by scooping 22.39% of the overall League One votes.

Second was a very tight call with Oxford's penalty king Cameron Brannagan finishing with 18.67% - taking fewer than 40 votes more than Burton Albion's former loan star Daniel Jebbison.

Morecambe striker Cole Stockton finished fourth with just shy of 15% of the total vote, coming ahead of Wigan's Will Keane who took 13.77% votes and Sunderland's Ross Stewart who finished with 12.29%.
