Bayern Munich's charge towards an eighth consecutive Bundesliga clash will continue when Hansi Flick's side travel to relegation threatened Werder Bremen.

Since the Bundesliga returned to action, Bayern have continued to assert their dominance on proceedings in Germany - with Saturday's victory over Borussia Monchengladbach making it six consecutive victories for Die Roten.

Werder Bremen, meanwhile, find themselves embroiled in a relegation battle, though their spirits will have been lifted by their 5-1 annihilation of basement boys Paderborn last time out.

But they still have plenty of work to do if they want to beat the drop, and a game against title-chasing Bayern is probably the last game that Werder would want at this stage. Here's 90min's preview of their midweek clash.

Where to Watch

When is Kick Off: Tuesday 16 June
What Time is Kick Off: 19:30 (BST)
Where is it Played: Weser Stadium
TV Channel/Live Stream: BT Sport (UK), Fox Sports (US)

Team News

Thomas Muller and Robert Lewandowski will return from suspension for Bayern, having missed out on beating Monchengladbach after picking up five yellow cards each.

This will serve as welcome news for Die Roten as the two have combined for 60 goals and assists in the Bundesliga this season. Bayern will, however, be without Thiago, as he's expected to miss the remainder of the domestic season after undergoing groin surgery.

Bremen's Milot Rashica - linked with a move to Liverpool recently - will hope to play a full part in the game after featuring for just under an hour against Paderborn. The Kosovan winger has been the club's standout performer this season, and will be relied upon to set the tempo for the hosts.

Leonardo Bittencourt could miss out after recent hip trouble, while Omer Toprak remains doubtful with a calf problem.

Predicted Lineups

Werder Bremen: Pavlenka; Selassie, Vogt, Moisander, Veljkovic, Augustinsson; Eggestein, Klaassen, Sargent; Rashica, Osako.

Bayern Munich: Neuer, Pavard, Boateng, Alaba, Davies; Kimmich, Goretzka; Perisic, Muller, Coman; Lewandowski.

Head-to-Head Record

As is the case with the vast majority of teams in the Bundesliga, Bayern are Bremen's bogey team. The last time the two sides met in the league back in December, Die Roten came away with a resounding 6-1 victory.

You will have to go as far back as 2012 to find the last time Bremen mustered a victory in this fixture. On that occasion, Die Werderaner overcame Bayern on penalties during a DFB Pokal cup tie, but they haven't picked up three points in the league since 2008.

Recent Form

Bremen are scrapping for their lives, and the commanding victory over Paderborn in their last outing will serve as encouragement that Bundesliga relegation can be staved off.

But just two victory in their last five means Werder are 17th in the table, three points away from safety.

Bayern, meanwhile, have enjoyed a sensational run of form since returning to action. They look hungrier than ever under new manager Flick, showing no signs of slowing down in the pursuit of an eighth straight Bundesliga title.

Victory over Monchengladbach this past weekend saw Bayern extend their winning run to 10 games, maintaining their seven point lead over Borussia Dortmund.

Here's a look at how both sides got on in their last five outings:

Werder Bremen:

Paderborn 1-5 Werder Bremen (13/6)
Werder Bremen 0-1 Wolfsburg (7/6)
Werder Bremen 0-3 Eintracht Frankfurt (3/6)
Schalke 0-1 Werder Bremen (30/5)
Werder Bremen 0-0 Borussia Monchengladbach (26/5)

Bayern Munich:

Bayern Munich 2-1 B. Monchengladbach (13/6)
Bayern Munich 2-1 Eintracht Frankfurt (10/6)
Bayer Leverkusen 2-4 Bayern Munich (6/6)
Bayern Munich 5-0 Dusseldorf (30/5)
Borussia Dortmund 0-1 Bayern Munich (26/5)

Prediction

Bayern's incredible run of recent form means it's very difficult to look past another three points. Bremen are scrapping for their lives, yes, but the gulf in quality is clear for all to see.

The return of Lewandowski and Muller would strike fear into the heart of any defence, let alone a team desperate to prove themselves. Bayern should have no problem strolling to victory.

Prediction: Werder Bremen 0-3 Bayern Munich
