Watford host Brentford at Vicarage Road on Saturday, with the sides entering the weekend in varying form.

The Hornets look condemned to relegation at this point, heading into this clash with just one victory in their previous seven Premier League outings, most recently losing 3-0 at home to Leeds. Roy Hodgson's men now sit six points adrift of safety with seven matches remaining.

The Bees, on the other hand, sit 12 points above the drop zone and are enjoying a real purple patch with the remarkable story of Christian Eriksen at its heart. Thomas Frank's side boasts four wins in their last five league fixtures, most recently earning incredibly impressive 4-1 and 2-0 victories over Chelsea and West Ham respectively.

Here's 90min's preview of this one.

Watford team news

Watford have one major blow for this weekend's clash, with Cucho Hernandez set to miss out through a hamstring injury sustained against Leeds last time out.

Elsewhere, Hodgson will continue to make do without Nicolas N'Koulou, Danny Rose and Kwadwo Baah.

Brentford team news

Frank will once more have to make do without Frank Onyeka and Josh Dasilva who are both sidelined, while Pontus Jansson remains a doubt having missed his side's win over West Ham last time out through illness.

In any case, the Bees boss could continue with the four at the back that worked so well against the Hammers.

Watford vs Brentford prediction

The Hornets' recent 2-1 victory over Southampton demonstrated their ability to play well and take something tangible away from a situation - but it's the plethora of defeats that surrounds that victory that shows how rarely they manage it.

Coming up against a Brentford side inspired by the return of Eriksen and clearly thriving at the moment, it's tough to see Hodgson's men earning a big result and grasping onto the little hope that still exists.

While not a gimme, Brentford can expect a fifth win in six here.

Prediction: Watford 0-2 Brentford
