Watford must win against Crystal Palace on Saturday or their relegation to the Championship will be confirmed - even a win might not be enough if Leeds take a point off Arsenal the next day.

Roy Hodgson has already confirmed that he won't be staying at the club beyond this season and expects to permanently retire after a 57-year career in the game as a player and coach.

Here is the Watford side he could pick against his boyhood club...

Ben Foster (GK) - Arguably unlucky to finish on the losing side against Burnley after several saves had stopped the Clarets getting back into the game earlier.

Kiko Femenia (RB) - Holding off competition from Jeremy Ngakia.

Christian Kabasele (CB) - Could retain his starting place here, even though Craig Cathcart has retuned to training and could be available.

Samir (CB) - Has generally done well since arriving at the club in January and his ability to head crosses clear will be important against Palace.

Hassane Kamara (LB) - Another January signing who has done well and perhaps deserves better than the situation the club finds itself in.

Moussa Sissoko (CM) - Needs to be at his cavaliering best if Watford are to have any chance here.

Imran Louza (CM) - Has been a regular under Hodgson and that isn't likely to change.

Tom Cleverley (CM) - Could return to the side in place of Juraj Kucka, who had done well against Burnley until being culpable in the late equaliser.

Ismaila Sarr (RW) - A top performer in patches, although Watford fans haven't seen enough consistency from the Senegalese star this season.

Joao Pedro (ST) - His link up play and all-round performance was extremely good against Burnley, which could keep Joshua King on the bench.

Emmanuel Dennis (LW) - Still Watford's best goal threat. Chances are he won't be at the club much longer after all but certain relegation is confirmed.
