US men’s national team interim manager Anthony Hudson announced the 24-player roster for the upcoming Nations League matches against El Salvador and Grenada, with Christian Pulisic and Gio Reyna headlining the squad.

The reigning champions of the Concacaf tournament return to action on March 24 when facing Grenada at the Kirani James Athletic Stadium in Saint George’s, before hosting El Salvador in Orlando, Florida at Exploria Stadium three days later.

“First and foremost, our objective is to win both matches. We want to defend our Nations League title and also qualify for this summer’s Gold Cup, and to do that we need to get results,” USMNT head coach Anthony Hudson said.

“From there, we want to maintain the standards that we’ve set and continue to build on the accomplishments of the last four years. We walked away from the World Cup knowing that we are capable of more, and we’re excited to continue to move this group forward.”

The United States currently stand in second place of Group D with four points in two games and a record of 1W-1D-0L. The team will need to win both matches and overcome leaders El Salvador to advance to the next round.

US men’s national team figure Tyler Adams was not called up for the March international window after sustaining a hamstring injury in training with Leeds this week. Though he was expected to join the American side in March for the Nations League matches, he will instead remain at Thorp Arch for 'further assessment' and rehabilitation.

The injury stands as a blow for interim manager Anthony Hudson, who depended on Tyler Adams to solidify the midfield. The USMNT must now depend on Weston McKennie, Giovanni Reyna, Brenden Aaronson and Christian Pulisic.

Notably, Club America forward Alex Zendejas made the USMNT roster after committing to the American team. The dual-nationality figure could’ve played for both the United States and Mexico, but declared his allegiance to the USMNT on Tuesday.
