The United States have a simple task in their final Group B game at the 2022 World Cup.

Win and they reach the knockout stages for the sixth time. Any other result would mean either Iran or Wales joining England in the top two places in the final standings.

Gregg Berhalter has kept things pretty steady so far, although a lack of goals (one in two games) puts the onus on him and his team to try something different now.

It is in their hands if they want it...

USA predicted lineup vs Iran

1. USA (4-3-3)

GK: Matt Turner - Yet to be beaten from open play at his first World Cup.

RB: Sergino Dest - Facing competition from the much more experience DeAndre Yedlin, who replaced him against England.

CB: Walker Zimmerman - A late bloomer but a key part of this team. At 29, he has played 20 of his 33 international games since the start of 2021.

CB: Tim Ream - The oldest player, outfield or otherwise, in this squad.

LB: Antonee Robinson - His energy down the left flank will be an important outlet for the American team.

CM: Weston McKennie - Has come off before the end of both games so far but is arguably playing at the highest club level of anyone here.

CM: Tyler Adams - Hasn't been fazed by the pressure of captaining the team at the age of just 23.

CM: Yunus Musah - American fans are yet to see the best of him in Qatar.

RW: Giovanni Reyna - Has only played seven minutes at this World Cup amid claims of a rift between him and Berhalter. But has so much quality.

ST: Jesus Ferreira - There has been a different 'number nine' against both Wales and England. The 21-year-old actual number nine could be a third.

LW: Christian Pulisic - American hopes have been pinned on him for years, but his shooting radar was off against England.
